Slimming in pregnancy takes on morbid, extreme form, in which aspirations and needs are mixed, conflicts the "good" of the mother with what the child needs. The expectant mother may even be aware of what is happening, how bad she is and how her life is developing, but there is usually no way and strength to change the situation. It happens that the scale of damage does not even reach her, and the problem of "not eating" is underestimated by her. He doesn't understand that she is sick and needs good outside support.

What is the risk of losing weight during pregnancy?

Slimming in pregnancy is dangerous. It is not without reason that nature invented it so that you gain extra kilos during pregnancy, and do not lose them. Starvation during pregnancy and intense exercise dramatically increase the risk of:

  • anemia
  • hypertension
  • depression
  • the need to terminate pregnancy by caesarean section,
  • the risk of miscarriage increases
  • the risk of breastfeeding problems increases,
  • premature delivery
  • death of a newborn baby.

While physiological weight loss in pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, is not dangerous, while slimming in pregnancy is a big problem. A developing fetus needs vitamins, minerals, protein and many valuable ingredients that it draws from food. All future mum's activities aimed at not eating, dramatically reducing calories, and training intensively should be monitored by a good psychologist.
